This year’s community projects will include sprucing, mulching and
planting flowers the Veteran’s Memorial, Ferndale City Hall and the
Police Department. As an exciting new addition to the event, and in
partnership with the Ferndale Housing Commission, we will have volunteers

To begin the day, all registered volunteers will need to check-in at the Ferndale City Hall from
8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. followed by the Kick-Off Pep-Rally beginning at approximately 8:45 a.m.
All projects will begin at 9:00 a.m.
The City’s Department of Public Works (DPW) staff will be providing necessary assistance, equipment, plants,
mulch and garbage bags. Volunteers are asked to bring a pair of gardening work gloves, a shovel or rake, if able.
Once the cleaning, sprucing and planting projects are completed, volunteers will be invited to hang out,
socialize and enjoy complimentary hot dogs and refreshments from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Please consider carpooling, bicycling or walking to the event destination.
Wear attire suitable for yard work and lawn maintenance.
On this same day, the Ferndale DPW, in partnership with SOCRRA
(Southeastern Oakland County Resource Recovery Authority), will be providing a one-day Recycling Station,
located in the City Hall municipal parking lot, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
